alaric.us: This one from a "slightly" different genre :)

kalirion: Random guess - Immortals Fenyx Rising?
No, but I see why you would think that based on this image.
Just to give this a bump and although the guess doesn't look quite "cartoonish" enough, Kingdoms of Amalur?

No, it's a SIGNIFICANTLY better looking game than KoA. :) Likely because it's also significantly newer.

Here's the first hint then: It was released in 2023.
Is this Stray Blade?

Catventurer: Is this Stray Blade?
Yes it is!

It's a good game, that I enjoyed beating. I'm not sure why it has a medium rating in Steam. Maybe those people expected a full-on Souls-like, while it's actually more along of action-adventure with only some minor elements influenced by the Souls formula.

Be as it may, you're it! :)

I'm guessing that they expected full on Souls-like and couldn't forgive the game for not being just that. I get mad at visual novels claiming to be RPGs, but I would still review them as visual novels while saying that I'm reviewing said game as a visual novel because it's not an RPG.

Anyway... finding a screen shot.
Screenshot is cropped to only show a section of the background - no interface, no player character, no NPCs. If I were to include any of those things, I may as well tell you the name while I'm at it.

Awesome! I 100% recommend it if you like point-and-click adventure games in the style of the old LucasArts games. The official critics complain that the puzzles are too basic, but I'd rather have easy puzzles than non-sense puzzles. Gibbous won't send you off looking up a walkthrough because you know exactly what you need to continue, but it's located somewhere that it could not possibly be under any reasonable circumstance and/or you need to do something completely ridiculous to get it.
